STEAM Project
- Pre-Seed
The STEAM Project aims to provide young individuals the opportunity to further their knowledge in science, technology, engineering, art, and mathematics. As a result, the challenge such that many youth in low socio-economic background are at a disadvantage due to the lack of resources is addressed.
Young people from low socio-economic backgrounds are at a disadvantage. This is usually the result from lack of resources within their community, their homes, and their schools. With such a disadvantage, many young individual will suffer from the lack of knowledge and skills that would amend their creativity, critical thinking, and adaptability, and skills that would drive their entrepreneurship. However, with the STEAM Project, the problem is addressed. The STEAM Project presents an innovative approach in building a community that will help increase skills development for disadvantage youth around the world if scaled, embed new educational models and concepts to improve quality of learning, and propose tools and strategies that teaches skills that will drive creativity and innovation. With the STEAM Project, many communities will have access to resources that introduces science, technology, engineering, art, and mathematics thus providing the exposure which will produce new aspirations, knowledge and interest among young individuals. This project will foster the development of transferable skills, such as creativity, communication, critical thinking, problem solving skills which will result in developing many young people under 24 from low-socio-economic backgrounds in the 21st century. If scaled, this project will provide young individual across the world with a desire to be creative, innovative, and inspiring.
Due to the lack of resources that are presented in low socio-economic environment, many young individuals are at a disadvantage in the development of skills needed to participate in the workforce. This disadvantage includes, but not limited to because of its on-going effect, a lack of new educational models and concepts that would provide a higher quality of learning and a lack of knowledge and opportunities that would provide tools and strategies that would drive an individual creative and innovative thinking.
A lack of knowledge and opportunity hinders an individual success, creativity, and inspiration. Many individuals that could become successful or explore new ideas were given opportunities that allowed them to further their knowledge, amend their skills, and pursue their dreams. However, for individuals that are hindered by their low socio-economic environment, that is not the case for them because of a lack of resource. The STEAM Project aims to combat that issue by providing an opportunity that would be too expensive to be acquired in low socio-economic communities or of which parents and young individuals are ignorant about.
The impact of my solution is to build a sustainable community by educating and training the future leaders of tomorrow. It aims to provide opportunities that will promote creativity, innovation, and individuality which are pivotal to the development of young individuals irrespective of color, race, or ethnic group. With the STEAM Project, young individual will be able to explore the science, technology, engineering, art, and mathematics field more in-depth and parents and adults will now have the knowledge and motivation to encourage others to pursue careers that will require creativity and innovative thinking.
Request for feedback from each iteration from participants - 100 young individuals participate in the program/project during the summer
Request for feedback from each community who successful hosted the STEAM Project - 100 low socio-economic communities request to implement project
Receiving funding for scholarships, competitions, and ceremonies - 50 organizations requesting for partnership

The STEAM Project is unique because it aims to influence young individuals to be creative, innovative, and inspiring. This project presents an innovative approach in building sustainable communities by educating and training and providing opportunities for the development of the future leaders of tomorrow. Young people in low socio-economic communities lack resources in the field of science, technology, engineering, art, and mathematics. Most young individuals will have the latest technology in terms of phone but few understand the science or functionalities behind them. This project will change that by introducing STEAM into the community, thus allowing exposure within those fields.
This solution is human-centered by aiming to supply the skills and resources that are too expensive to acquire or of which parents and young individuals are ignorant of. This project starts, ends, and involves the people for which it was geared to by centering all the attention on them. It will introduce and strengthen their knowledge in science, technology, engineering, art and mathematics. It will provide communities and individuals the opportunity to mentor and teach the youth. This solution is centered on the development of young individual creativity and innovative thinking and their well-being.
People will be able to access my solution through community centers, schools, and partnering organizations. The solution will be deployed during the summer for 10-12 weeks. The program will be segmented into 5 or 6 parts with each part focusing on science, technology, engineering, art, and mathematics. Each segment is 2 weeks long and consist of 10-12 hours each week. To make this program affordable and accessible to the community, the STEAM project will depend on donations, partnering, support, and volunteers from organizations and communities.

To sustain ourselves financially, the team plans on buying recyclable materials and will also apply and request for donations, government funding, organization funding, and grants as we research, pilot, grow, and scale the solution.
Some factors that are limiting the ability for the solution succeeding are funding, locating volunteers, locating spaces to host events, marketing the solution, and team creation.
