Innovation
The younger generation of our country lags behind in innovation than other countries youth. In the absence of enthusiasm, stimulation and financial support, their talents are not being fully used to develop our country.
If we can create a conducive environment for innovation by mentally and financially assisting our younger generation, they will move forward in innovation. Thus our pace of development will be accelerated.
If we can utilize the talent of young people to innovation then-
- We will not depend on other countries technology rather they will depend on our technology.
- Since the quality of education and treatment will improve, so we don’t have to go to other countries for higher education and better treatment.
- Defense sector will be strong and other sectors of the country will be also improved.
- Being an exporting country, we will be financially sound.
- Employment of young people will reduce unemployment in the country.
- Above all, Bangladesh will be a developed country.
We know, one-third part of our population is young. They are gemstones and driving force for our country. The innovative power of young people can take a country to the high dimension of development. But it is a matter of great of sorrow that the younger generation of our country is still very backward in innovation than other country’s young. The main reason for their failure is that we help them very few mentally and financially in innovation. Actually, we have treasure but can’t use it because of proper processing.
If we click the link, we will observe how is our tendency to innovation.
According to the link, among 137 countries Bangladesh got 114th position in the tendency of innovation
After finishing school and college, I have set my foot in the university. I saw in the village, myself and my friend’s parents never inspired us to make anything new. Very few teachers in schools and colleges used to ask us to think about new problems. As it is now at university. Most of the food products, clothes, electrical products, vehicles and other technologies in the market are made by another country. All of this is because we are not interested in innovation and we don’t have the proper environment to innovate something.
If we can interest ourselves to innovate there will come a day when our young people will innovate new technologies in their homes and educational institutions. Even every product in the markets will be made by Bangladesh. Thus we will become a developed nation.
To interest our younger generation to innovate, a proper environment is needed. We can create this environment for young people in different ways such as finance, fostering innovation, showing the way of innovation and so on. Since I am an undergraduate student, I currently make young people interested in innovation in two ways.
First,
I inspire young people to be interested in innovation. For example - I tell them, "If you love your homeland, you should do something for the benefit of the country. Do you know that your innovation can change not only Bangladesh but also the world? If you can improve your country through your innovation, no one will be able to speak against your country. Everybody in the world respects your country. Even after you die, you will remain in human minds. ".
Second, I show young people the path to innovation-
I basically do one thing which is that I always try to solve a problem in a different way from the other person. When my junior comes to me to discuss his reading, I try to present the text in his textbook in such a way that he has time to think about a problem. this is how I try to make his brain favorable of innovation.
- Upskill, reskill, or retrain workers in the industries most affected by technological transformations
- Support underserved people in fostering entrepreneurship and creating new technologies, businesses, and jobs

The theme of my solution is-" trending to innovation and turning the young to wealth". Considering the situation in the world today, I have wanted to develop the innovative power of young people in Bangladesh. For my younger generation, this thinking has made my solution innovative.
There may be some organizations in our country that help young people financially or through consultation or make the opportunity to work. I still not saw any person or team speaking to change from head to foot of the country to develop the innovative power of the younger generation. Although the government has done some work recently to innovate young people, it is not enough. We have to identify the problem at first. There are so much educated persons and educational institutions of us but why our younger generation lags behind in innovation than other countries youth. Most of the people of our country think, "A boy or girl will think about innovation after complete his/her higher studies. How can it be possible for a primary or secondary school student to think something new!" This thinking of people has become the biggest obstacle in the path of innovation for young people. To arouse the innovative power of young people, I have wanted to modify the thoughts of people in my solution which has made my solution innovative.
I am optimistic that if my solution is applied in Bangladesh, the noteworthy change will come in every sector in Bangladesh.
- Our educational system will be youthful. The educational institutions will be the door of innovation.
- We will invent the antidote to fatal diseases and provide better treatment for the people in our country.
- We will ease the sufferings of farmers by using new technologies.
- We will stop the corruption of the country by using modern technology.
- Since we will use the technology of ours so a large part of the money will be not go to other countries(as it is now).
- In essence, we will become a self-sufficient and advanced nation.

- I will serve with my solution a large number of people within one year and with five years.
The problem I have presented at the MIT Challenge is one of the major's obstacles to the development of Bangladesh. Maybe I can provide my own opinion on what goals are needed to solve this problem but the government will have to come forward mainly to implement these goals. The following are some of the goals:
Within the next year:
At first, the government will create a committee to work on innovation in the country. Member of this committee will be those teachers and students in the educational institutions who work on innovation. Their work is as follows:
- They will organize seminars, discussion meeting, etc. on the topic of innovation in the educational institutions and governmental and non-governmental organizations.
- They will also use posters, electronic media, newspapers, etc. to inform people about innovation.
- They will make short films, plays, etc. to help people understand how important innovation is to us.
Within the next five years-
- Each year, the Committee will present to the Ministry of Finance the amount of budget required for education, treatment and especially research and innovation.
- They will also organize competitions every year on Innovation Day, and innovative people will present their innovative ideas and work and the best will be the prize.
- They will open a project on behalf of the government. They will choose one of the best fancy works given by teachers, students, and other people and use that work in the development of the country.
There are some barriers currently in Bangladesh to achieve my goals. These are –
- Most of the parents in our country illiterate about innovation. Though someone knows, he doesn't encourage the young to innovate.
- Girls in our country can't fulfill their dreams due to some social constraints such as negligence of the family towards them, child marriage, eve-teasing, sexual harassment, etc.
- Although little research is conducted in public universities, most of the teachers in the educational institutions of Bangladesh do not attach themselves directly or indirectly in innovation. Also, very few teachers encourage students to innovate. Universities, on the other hand, do not have a structurally appropriate environment for innovation.
- The budget invested by the government to improve the quality of education and treatment is not enough.
- we have poor innovation in the medical field, so any fatal disease makes an epidemic shape in the country. For example - dengue disease in Bangladesh in August 2019.
- If we click the link below, we understand that the government of Bangladesh invests less money in research and development than other countries.(https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_countries_by_research_and_development_spending).According to the link,we can say that the government of Bangladesh spend so less money for research and development because Bangladesh could not get any position in the survey among 91 countries.
- Though some informal young in our country have engaged themselves in innovation, (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CxDmq1VaQFg), but they do not get proper evaluation from the government for their work.
My following plans will help to overcome these barriers:
- Government, non-governmental organizations and educational institutions need to come forward to inform the common people about innovation. As a result, every boy and girl will know about innovation from their family.
- Parents have to encourage their children to fulfill their dreams.
- The government must remove the obstacles that work against the dreams of girls.
- We have to bring our students near to technology from the primary level. To do this, we can keep models of modern electrical devices and machines in a room of schools.
- We have to include innovation-related courses in our education. We have to organize the textbooks in such a way so that students can take enough time to think about a problem. Besides, we have to well-furnished lab classrooms, take activities to set up work-shop in higher secondary level and modernize the work-shop of the universities.
- Separate funding must be allocated for innovation in educational institutions of Bangladesh. A separate committee will have to be made to help students easily to innovate. We have to make arrangement to train the teachers on innovation.
- To connect students to the Global Village, our educational institutions need to be connected to the Internet.
- The government has to raise the budget for education and treatment. Especially, separate funding will have to be kept for Research and Innovation.
- The government must evaluate the innovative work of informal young people.
- Not registered as any organization
Only I work on my solution team.
No organization
I don’t officially start any activities to implement my idea. But I use the following processes to arouse the innovative power of my friends and younger brothers:
- I encourage them to innovate.
- I tell them how to make our brain for innovation.
- I also tell them how will make ourselves for innovation.
- Even I tell them, "While reading, you think about your lessons. As a result, with completing your lessons, you will make your brain suitable for innovation unaware of your own mind.”
However, I think my work is like a village physician who only gives treatment to some people and can't give treatment for fatal diseases. I have not any afford to work with a large number of people. So, to implement my idea the government must come forward.
I think Tiger Challenge is the best place to express my idea.I also think that through Tiger Challenge I will give my message not only the government but also the people of our country. If I am selected, then I will hope that the government of Bangladesh will accept my idea for the development of my country. As a result,we will not lags behind from other countries. And my dream will be successful.
