In our daily life we lose items every now and then but we cannot retrieve that lost item most of the times or we may find that lost item after facing many difficulties. Again, we don’t have any dedicated services like any web or mobile application where people can query for their lost items. Sometimes in some groups in Facebook, we might see such lost post or found post but that isn’t enough as it can’t be tracked. Also whoever lost the item may not find that lost item there easily. For example, somehow the post may not reach to him or he may not be active. This doesn’t help much. So we thought of making this web application.

•  To increase the visibility of both the lost and found items.
• Assist users to find their certain lost items.
• Try to give suggestion to the users.
• Providing location service, for assisting the user more.

Every year in our country countless things become lost by the people, most of those things can’t be retrieved easily because of not having a proper platform through which anyone can get their things back. There are only some Facebook groups where some of those lost or found posts can be seen. But they are not enough. Not everybody has the permission to view the posts without joining the group or being approved the post, as admins are busy sometimes it becomes too much late when they approve a post. Again most of those groups or pages are not active that much. As well as, we can’t find our lost items by searching on Facebook, because Facebook doesn’t offer such opportunity for searching lost or found products. So, it becomes very hard to find a lost thing by Facebook searching. Our main purpose is to help the users to get back their lost items safe and easily. Our project is for solving such problems.

Well I myself ones lost my Debit Card near Banasree.When i realized that my card has been lost it was too late, as i was far away from Banasree and very anxious so I tried to reach out to the nearest people but did not find any medium to share and seek for the help from someone within that area. There are so many incidents like this happens every day and most of the times, recovering those lost items become very hard for the people around the country. If there were any easier way to get back those kinds of lost items, then it would have been so great.

Our main purpose is to help the users to get back their lost items safe easily. Our application is for solving such type of problems. To make it more easy and visual to show the lost area, we have used location based services using google map, there will be a red marker in the area where the user either lost or found something. We have used some algorithms and tried to give the better suggestion for the user to find his desired lost item.

So the solution is simple, get registered to be a user after then;

 Lost Something?

At first you have to come to our site, click to “Lost Something” see the latest found posts by the users who had found something. Saw a similar product you have lost? Click for the details here you will have a lot of suggestions similar to the post you have clicked, it will generate suggestion based on the location and product and date. Didn’t get your product? No problem now you can post it on the site as a “Lost Product”. If someone found that product come to the site, he/she will surely contact with you to back you the product.

Found Something?

At first you have to come to our site, click to “Found Something” see the latest lost posts by the users who had lost something. Saw a similar product you have found? Click for the details here you will have a lot of suggestions similar to the post you have clicked, it will generate suggestion based on the location and product and date. Didn’t get your desired lost post? No problem now you can post it on the site as a “Found product”. If someone lost that product come to the site, he/she will surely contact with you to get back the product.

To make it more easy and visual to show the lost area, we have used location based services using google map, there will be a red marker in the area where the user either lost or found something. So that the suggestions can come from within those similar places. We have also used some algorithms such as String matching algorithm and SVM Kernel's which is a machine learning algorithms for the classification and tried to give the better suggestions for the users to find their desired lost or found products.
