People's safety is a very important issue due to rising crimes these days. Women, Children are the most affected ones. Moreover, the rate of crimes has been increased in the last few years from which people of different ages has faced with mugging, kidnapping, sexual harassment, and many more life threatening situations.

To use today's technological advancements and build a safety device that can alert the surrounding people, the national emergency helpline and trusted family member including his/her's exact location.

Would encourage women's participation in many sectors as commuting is safe. people of all gender and age can use it in any kind of emergency. Personal safety devices are not yet available in Bangladesh. Similar devices present in market uses GPS module which are highly expensive in market and hence are not affordable for the people most in need.

According to census of 2015, 15% of the men and 50% of the women are either harassed or disturbed on a daily basis in their lifetime.

Safety is the ultimate concern for each and every person in the society. As Bangladesh is a Developing country, its crime rate is high, due to poverty and illiteracy. The following pictures provide a statistics of only registered crimes from past years. In order to enhance the personal safety issue, our device can bring hope, courage and an ideology of being independent and free from all violence and heinous crimes for the youth and specially females of Bangladesh.

Main target users are females & children. An unofficial survey performed by our team shows that almost 70%  people are concerned about their safety specially at night. Our survey was mainly focused among the lower class and middle class people, which includes garments workers, students, workers etc. 

Garments sector in Bangladesh is largest export sector. In the year 2013, there were approximately 5,000 garment factories, employing about 4 million people, mostly women. These women are mostly between the age of 16 to 30. They have shifts both day and night. Although the wage for night shift is much higher but due to security issues these women are reluctant to work at night, therefore losing a chance to earn significant amount of money. Our device assures safety and  would encourage further empowerment of women and children in Bangladesh. This is one example of the community we think we can bring a change with our product.

Moreover after the design and development of this device, its prototype was tested on students of North South University under various situations and conditions. The testing was strictly supervised by the Engineering Department of NSU. About 97% of tested outcome was positive.number of garments worker in Bangladesh

But these devices are made in a specialized way just to overcome some problems and which are not easily accessible and user friendly or much available in an affordable fashion. Some of these devices can be compared to the proposed device which is in fact is more affordable and much user friendly safety device.

‘BACHAO’ mobile App allows the device to be connected with the user’s cell phone. The user can input three emergency contacts of his/her choice. Once the device is activated by the user the device sends an emergency message to the contacts which informs the receiver that the user is in trouble and is seeking the receiver’s help and assistant. The message also includes the current location of the user. One important features of this device is that it also allows the user to call one of the emergency contacts of his/her own choice which has to be fixed beforehand. It is a small and portable device which can be both carried and worn. It comes with a fashionable band, inside which the device is integrated. The device will be powered by a replaceable 5Volt battery. Once the device is turned on, the user has to turn on his/her location and Bluetooth. The Bluetooth connects the device with the user’s cell phone. The cell phone of the user is used to send text message, phone call and location of the user. All these features is done by just one click on the band.

For years people are working in it and many countries in the world has achieved a milestone in this. Though there are some lacking, for which this devices has not been using widely .The most important issue is the overall price which is above the expectation of general people. 

Some of these devices can be compared to the proposed device which is in fact is more affordable and much user friendly safety device.

safety is a big issue. nothing can compromise with safty. safty against crime, accident, fire and etc. our device allows to pin point the exact location of the user thus helping the rescue workers or well wishers to pinpoint the location and help the user. 

our device is in a working prototype phase. currently we are serving anyone, because we need further research and engineering advancement to improve our device. Next year we would start serving 500 people,mainly students to find out if our device working properly in different situations.

the goal is to provide safety to all, specially women, children and disabled. Bangladesh has a huge population within the age limit of 20-50(working class). but because of fear and social stigma, women of our society are deprived of their rights and freedom just because of the safety issue. we want to use this safety issue to bring changes in the way our society works.

it requires a lot of money for research and development of a product or device. our current barrier is finance.

right now we have personally invested in our device. we will keep on perusing our goal to launch the device on a small number of people mainly students. if the outcome is according to our expectation then we will try to expand our field and try to find enthusiastic investors with the same mind setup and goal as ours.
