Full Life App

Mental disorders are common in our generation, yet it is not properly addressed. My solution consistis in a program with multiple approaches, by combining the technology to use yoga and create an accurate database to be used by Health Organizations.
It is said that some scientists told to His Holiness the Dalai Lama that chemical imbalance in the brain caused thoughts related to sadness, depression, and anxiety.
His Holiness then asked 'what if the negative thoughts were the ones responsible for creating the chemical imbalance in the brain?'
I have fought a depression for over five years. Although I acknowledge the importance of therapy and medication, I only got rid of it after practicing yoga.
By "yoga" I mean a whole culture. There is a lot of literature on the impact meditation/mindfulness has on stress and mental disorders reduction, but there is no device that puts together everything that yoga can offer: postures, meditation, philosophy, and philosophy (not religion).
Professor Hermógenes, one of the pioneers of yoga for depression treatment in Brazil, once said 'there has never been an unhappy yogi'. Fortunately, I gave him a vote of confidence and followed the program prescribed in his book and managed to alleviate my mental suffering.
Now, I want to create one app with a program to reduce levels of depression and anxiety, using a holistic approach. Through this app, it is going to be possible to
1) Create one accurate database with people who suffer mental disorders like depression and anxiety and their profile.
2) Make this database available to World Health Organization so that it can assess new public policies to address Mental Health issues.
3) Address the stigma and prejudice faced by those who suffer mental disorders and tell them the importance of therapy and psychiatric treatment.
My solution proposes to reduce levels of Depression and Anxiety by using one app named 'Full Life', which is a 3-6 months program that uses yoga (postures, breathing techniques, mindfulness, relaxation, and more importantly, the underlying philosophy of ii) in a program fit to the characteristic of each user.
It has been proved that yoga postures can be helpful to the treatment of depression

target outcomes
1) reduce or manage major depression and/or anxiety by using yoga through an app
2) create one database to be used by WHO with the characteristics of people that suffer depression and mental disorders, in order to create more accurate public policies on Mental Health
3) provide to the app user information on centers that offer therapy at low cost or free of charge based on their locality
4) address the stigma and prejudice that people mentally ill suffer
create one app fit to the characteristics of the user, providing specific programs - reduce or manage major depression and/or anxiety by using yoga through an app
before using the app, the user would have to answer some questions with two goals> guide the app to show one specific program to each need and create the accurate database, available to WHO. - one database on people that suffer depression and create more accurate public policies. Depression receives nowhere near the societal attention, funding, research money that either cancer or cardiac disease do.
It will be able to insert data on centers that offer therapy at low cost and suicide prevention lifelines. This information will be available to other users so that they can have a holistic treatment to depression/anxiety. - provide to the app user information on centers that offer therapy at low cost or free of charge based on their locality

- Upper middle income economies (between $3976 and $12275 GNI)
- Non-binary
- Urban
- Europe and Central Asia
- Latin America and the Caribbean
- US and Canada
- Consumer-facing software (mobile applications, cloud services)
- Digital systems (machine learning, control systems, big data)
There are thousands of apps related to yoga postures and mindfulness, but what I propose is a different approach: the use of the whole culture of yoga to address depression, not only postures or meditation. Also, the app will be used to provide data to create new public policies on how to address Mental Issues.
Full Life App aims to alleviate the sufferings in human's soul. When we study yoga, we realize that men of antiquity have posed the same questions that one could ask a therapist. Another benefit of the app is that it will provide information on lifeline centers and mental clinics based on the locality of the user. One phonecall can represent the salvation to someone willing to end their life. However, how the person can use this service if he does not know it?
Before using Full Life App, the user will have to answer a survey. This survey has two purposes: direct the user to the most suitable program and use their answers to create a database. Developing one app is affordable and accessible. I am confident one small team can accomplish that.

I believe people still have a misconception of yoga, which can limit the number of users. However, it is possible to overcome this limitation by providing this app partnerships with mental health research centers at first, and then putting it available for everyone.

One day, I was so sad that I took 150 pills, but I woke up. I felt a terrible sorrow when I woke up and realized My suicide attempt had failed.I called suicide prevention lifeline. A friend of mine gave me the address of centers that offered therapy for free. I was lucky for having supporters. The turning point, however, happened when I used yoga alongside therapy and medical treatment. I want other people to have the same opportunity, and it is amazing the idea that we can do that by using simple technology.
Currently, none.
I have no idea of other programs that offer such responses to mental health issues.
