AdsCollect crawls digital version of newspaper to detect ads. AdsCollect creates an index of that corner of internet which is otherwise invisible on conventional search engines. News published on todays' newspaper can be searched using many search engines. Searching for a Tender notice or Job circular published next to that news wont be that easy. Digital version of newspaper or epaper is published on AJAX based interface which makes them difficult for conventional search engines to crawl and index. AdsCollect uses machine learning to detect ads, then comes Optical Character Recognition(OCR) which provides the vital context of the ad. Natural Language Processing(NLP) is used to index the text obtained by OCR. It will help people in Bangladesh to find a Job or Tender notice from newspaper at the ease of web search.

What is the problem you are solving?

Finding a job circular or Tender Notice- published on todays
paper is a tedious job. Conventional search engines (like Google or Bing), do not index epaper(print version of newspaper) as it is locked behind AJAX interface.

Publishing an advertisement on newspaper is not as easy as it is on Adwords. Newspapers do not offer an intuitive ad placement interface like facebook ads or google Adwords.

AdsCollect detects & indexes Newspaper ads using a

combination of cutting edge technology including Machine
Learning, Optical Character Recognition, Natural Language
Processing. It is capable of detecting multiple ads from a
single image on the fly using computer vision, so that it can
Index them individually.

Newspapers sell their ad slots in multiple channels. Their
legacy business model fails to scale or make last minute(or day)
adjustment. On the other hand, Individual advertisers face
several hurdle while publishing an ad on newspaper. AdsCollect
is going provide a platform for this advertisers to publish their
ads using a easy-to-use web interface. From the publishers’
point of view, it will offer them a chance to make last minute
adjustment, offer a discount depending on that weeks’ unsold
ad inventory.
