Human Cult Studio
We have a lack of locally produced entertainment content for kids. Contents shown on local TV channels are either poorly executed or translated foreign content that doesn't represent our culture or values, most of the time these are not suitable for a kid’s mental development.
Due to the significant cost involved in developing an animated I.P. and inadequate revenue generated by advertisement sales, local broadcasters ware unsuccessful in creating a market segment.
We want to create a 48 Episode 3D Animated Cartoon Show for Kids age 2 to 9. We want to create a more cost-effective production pipeline and a business model that can be profitable in Bangladeshi market.
In Bangladesh, we have over 33,235,199 kids age 0-9.
We will design this series so that it reflects Bangladeshi values and culture, foster kids' imagination, encourage their critical thinking, promote a healthy attitude towards learning while being entertaining at the same time.
Bangladesh has a population of 157,826,578 (est.) of which 4,98,81,814 are children under the age of fifteen. Proper development of these children assures the future of the country.
Currently, over 91.2 million people have access to the internet and almost the entire population has access to over 30 local T.V. Channels. Of which, only one is dedicated to kids. This channel airs almost 37 animated content, all of them are translated foreign content and a minuscule number of poorly executed local content on other T.V. Channels. Most of these contents do not aid to the mental development of children.
At this susceptible age, entertainment content through TV and digital media can greatly influence their mental development.
Data shows that animated content has a huge growing demand but there have been only six locally-produced animated shows created for children in the past 29 years.
Attempts to create new IPs have failed despite having a growing demand. This is due to the significant cost involved in developing an animated I.P. and lack of a sustainable revenue model through Broadcasting Rights.
Locally we have a lack of entertainment content for kids age 2-14. According to the 2011 census, We have a target audience of 33,235,199 in this age group. From google search analytics we can see that "Bangla Cartoon" is the most searched phrase compared to other search phrases used with "cartoon".
We want to create a 3d Animated TV series for kids age 2 to 9.
We will design this TV series so that it will foster kids imagination and encourage their critical thinking while being entertaining at the same time.
We want to create a 3d Animated TV series for kids, utilizing open source software. In recent days Open Source alternatives for proprietary 3D animation programs have come to a stage where we can successfully use them for our project. As these are Open Sourced, we can program these tools to fit our specific needs. Open source initiative also allows us to implement a degree of data security and redundancy that is very expensive with proprietary solutions.

Traditionally the key software used in 3d animation is from Autodesk and Adobe among many others. Recently, Open Source alternatives for these programs have come to a stage where we can successfully use them for our project. This will reduce cost and eliminate piracy.
Even a year ago a standard level of 3D animation work would take weeks or months to render. But with the latest open-source rendering engine, it is possible to render in near real-time using off the shelf gaming PC.
As we don't have any animation industry we simply have a lack of animators. We want to start with stylized animations. This is to train animators for more complex projects in the future. Also, stylized animations make it snappy and more eye-catching for kids.
Our vision is to create content that is aware of its impact on young minds and aids emotional and intellectual growth. We want to incorporate well-developed methods of promoting healthy human qualities in kids, methods of teaching kids about general knowledge, math, science, environment, social and cultural elements.
In the local TV industry, we can’t expect to be profitable just by licensing our product to them. Instead, our focus shall be on merchandising to sustain this project for the first three years. To adopt this strategy, we plan to buy airtime on BTV and broadcast our show to the national audience. The reserved time for the advertisement shall be utilized for the promotion of our merchandise.
There is a global movement in 3D animation and CGI to use and support Open Source software. If Bangladesh launches it's animation industry powered by this movement from the beginning, it would be a tremendous advantage for creators of all levels. On the other hand, a successful business model could interest a lot of new investors. Bangladesh has a huge youth population who are highly interested in computer technology and creative industry. If A sustained domestic industry can help them grow, it will soon lead to expansion into the global industry.
TV and Mobile Devices with internet access is becoming very common in most households in Bangladesh. The symbiotic relationship between children and these devices are starting at a more and more younger age. It would not be wrong to say that children are practically being raised on mobile devices. On the other hand, click bate business and sloppy TV programming with aggressive marketing are targeting this vulnerable market. This warrants the development of robust regulation and attention on kid's content. A fresh supply of appropriate and constructive content for kids can show the way to a bright future for our children.

We are currently at the idea stage and it will take at least 3 years to start airing our program.
In four years, our show may reach 4,98,81,814 (33.4% of the total population) children.
Our goal is to Complete production of the first IP by year 3, create 2nd IP and extend revenue generation of the first IP by the year 5 and two complete series and an Animated Feature Film by year 7. As we continue to grow our list of IP, we will be able to create a full roster of kid's content that is suited for their mental nourishment. We would be able to create more sustainable jobs for 3D artists and technicians. As these animators grow their skill, they will be able to take part in the global animation industry and earn foreign currency. With this experience, they can launch many other animation studios and keep the industry moving forward.
Currently, we are looking for financial and policy support for this project. We are also looking for a competent advisory board, marketing, and merchandise manufacturing partners, logistical support partners.
Major Obstacles for this project:

For funding, we are looking for opportunities to work with venture capitalist companies and grant commissions who are interested in the IT industry and especially in developing Bangladesh as a nation. We are in communication with experienced and knowledgeable people from design, art, TV and film industry who are willing to come on board as advisers. We are also planning to collaborate with digital marketing experts and logistic and delivery service companies.
