The PEACE-Wise Function

The PEACE-Wise Function is set up to use a mathematical equation (piece -wise function) and concept in order to address Gun Violence and help people in the community receive health services.  PEACE is a backcronym for Politics Education Athletics Community and Entertainment and how those 5 areas can address the issues of gun violence and mental health that is rampant on a global level. I aim to use a multi-faceted approach with systems and checkpoints to further end gun violence and the lack of accessibility to health care in this country. This can be achieved from a deep understanding of how violence happens and the social-economical conditions that threaten our livelihood and mental health.

This problem being solved is gun violence in urban areas we well as the lack of mental health support for people in these areas. Both gun violence , PTSD and other forms of health issues go hand and hand. This is an issue that is rampant in states like Louisiana and California large cities like Chicago and medium sized cities like Baltimore, Detroit, Memphis and St.Louis etc. From a state level Louisiana has been the deadliest with a homicide rate of 12.4 per 100,000. Statistics show that about 73% of all murders are committed with a firearm. Furthermore cities like St.Louis in the Midwest, Memphis in the South and Baltimore along the east coast consistently rank amongst the top 5 deadliest cities in the nation. Baltimore which experienced a record low a short 5 years ago has consistently had above 300 murders a year with a population size only slightly above 620K people. It was ranked the most dangerous city by time magazine. There’s been recent studies that show the connection to PTSD and other mental illnesses and how they lead to violent behavior and a lack of empathy towards them.

I am solving the high-risk members and those people affected by there behaviors in the community. I am serving the youth. The young kids that want to play outside without getting hit by a stray bullet. The kids that want to do be able to live peacefully inside and not get hit by a stray bullet. People in the community need to mobilize and leverage each other’s resources. There are organizations set up but we should not be competing with one another if our goal is for a healthier city and better today for our neighborhoods. The people need places to cope and talk out there issues with therapist ,counselors and conflict resolution community members. 

The solution is a multifaceted approach that leveraged the greatest resource...The people, the places and things that are already in the community. This is about education and this is about a mind shift and mentality change but there must be some type of aid given. The P stands for politics. Every week local politicians and activists  must get together in each district and give a report of what’s going on. It would help if the law Enforcement did the same as well because there has been a terrible divide with the community and members of the police force especially in the black/brown communities. This ensures visibility and makes people understand that they are valued and matter and shouldn’t have to wait until something happens before there is concern. A monthly town hall meeting with the higher ups and state politicians in the more higher crime /violent communities would be essential as well. The next letter is  the E which stands for the Education in PEACE. We need after school tutoring programs where the college students get paid to tutor the high school, high school tutors middle school and middle school tutors elementary schools. This should be in the area of STREAM...Science, Technology,Reading, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics. 

Its multi faceted and an efferent mathematical way to leverage recourses already present in the community. A mind shift. 

The core tech will be smart Centers that incorporates apps to keep track of violence reduction and other city statistics. 

it is multiple approaches addressing a complex issue with a common goal. It needs to be incentives to help people that are stuck in the struggle that want to give back. 

I’m serving 100s in the schools in Maryland and youth center in the region. 

To serve everyone on a regional level and then a nationwide level

We offer two main functions the School System and other B to B such as youth programs to show the kids other alternative ways to deal with making a living besides the streets. We also are direct to the people with seminars events and a product line to offer our first ever game to the community about entrepreneurship in modern society. 

we are financially sustainable. We would just like to grow in order to operate on a higher level and with our own facilities to help other non profits. 

I would love to form a partnership. It’s apart of how these problems are solved and the core values behind the PEACE-Wise Function.

AI will serve as a help center function on the smart Centers when only security is present. Students can receive aid for any pressing issue as long as they have access to the center. 

I would use the prize to implement the structure for the AI technology and Big Data app - store capabilities to further improve the conditions with diy kiosk to help keep the community engaged. 

the money will be used for the smart Centers and to bring in instructors to teach the kids about lessons they learned (Former felons) and also a tech hub to help with changing the mentality of the youth. This applies to the youth centers , apps and PEACE -Wise Function Kiosk. Access is granted through applications and secured fob entry.
