Quick Diagnosis
STDs and allergy early detection are one of the most significant issues we face in Africa and other developing countries, due to poorly equipped hospitals and specialist doctors in most urban and rural areas across developing countries to properly diagnose these diseases early.
Quick Diagnosis is an AI diagnosis bot that diagnoses Diseases and Allergy by analysing patient's symptoms and then connects them with hundreds of certified partnered doctors and specialists within their given city.
With Quick Diagnosis, we aim at reaching millions of people across developing countries without access to essential diagnostic and health centres through their smartphone.
In 2007, I lost my 8years old cousin due to allergy triggered asthma complications in a Nigerian hospital, due to poor response and improper management of her condition, this is just one case out of millions of other preventable deaths caused by allergies and STD complications.
In this age of urbanisation, the major challenges we face in Nigeria and other developing countries are inadequate healthcare services and medical professionals. Contrary to the recommendations of the World Health Organisation, WHO, of one doctor to 600 patients, Nigeria currently has a ratio of one doctor to 6,000 patients, according to vangardngr and with poor infrastructures, sewage-contaminated water supplies, unsanitary living conditions, the rate of allergy cases and immune degrading diseases like STDs, will continue to be on the rise.
Quick Diagnosis is a telemedical application that brings quality healthcare service to areas where the doctor to patient ratio is low, using AI and machine learning to perform rapid symptom diagnosis and connect doctors to the patient through a mobile device
We aim to offset the imbalance ratio between a doctor to patient in Nigeria and other developing countries by connecting specialist doctors to millions of people with inadequate access to healthcare services.
World health organisation estimates that half the population of Africa and some developing countries do not have access to primary health care. We aim to help offset the effect of the imbalanced distribution of healthcare service centres across developing countries starting from Nigeria and beyond through telemedicine. With the help of artificial intelligent and unique partnership, our solution will serve those that live in areas where the ratio of specialist doctors and patients are significantly low by giving them quick access to hundreds of specialist doctors, and health advisers through their smartphones.
Our team initially launched a survey on some of the most affected area in Nigeria, and we found out that, about 60% to 70% of people mostly young adult living in these areas, possesses a smart phone and have access to the internet. Thanks to the rise of cheap and powerful smartphone manufactured in China, We can now connect specialist living in nearby areas to places and regions that lack their services.
Quick Diagnosis is an AI diagnosis bot that diagnoses Diseases, and Allergies. It is designed to simulate the way doctors diagnose diseases by asking patients questions regarding their symptoms. These symptoms are then analysed by a robust algorithm that matches their symptoms with hundreds of diseases already added to Quick Diagnosis AI's memory database, that present similar symptoms to the body. A detailed description of a possible illness that might have caused the symptoms will then be presented to them, with possible solutions for minor issues or connect them with our certified partner specialists and doctors near their city or town for immediate medical assistance.
- Prevent infectious disease outbreaks and vector-borne illnesses
- Enable equitable access to affordable and effective health services
- Prototype
- New application of an existing technology
Many Nigerian entrepreneurs and businesses like Healthconnect247 and Jaracare, to name the few are using telemedicine technique to solve most of these healthcare issues in Nigeria by connecting patients to doctors. Quick Diagnosis, takes their idea a step further by introducing AI diagnoses bot, among other things. The idea is to give patients an idea of what their illness might be and possible solutions to those that might not require immediate doctors attention. Quick Diagnosis also makes a fast connection to an available doctor concerning a patient illness if it deems their situation critical. Finally, it keeps a patient's health records, including medical procedures and medications for frequent checkups and also serves as a reference data for a different doctor.
Our solution uses the power and benefits of mobile device technology, artificial intelligence, machine learning and natural language. Quick Diagnosis is mobile application software that would be offered in both Android and IOS mobile operating systems by the mid next year 2020 as two different application.
Hospitals will use one of the applications, including freelance specialist doctors to teach the Ai about different diseases, its symptoms, critical levels, and possible solutions and professional advice, based on their field of study. Quick Diagnosis then uses machine learning to analyse these data and selects the best information of a specific disease based on how they match with each other by different trainers.
The second application will be available for everyone, especially those living in areas with little to no specialist hospitals or clinics to handle their fundamental health issues. With the Quick Diagnosis application, users can start a diagnosis season by entering their immediate symptoms. With the knowledge gathered by physicians and medical institution trainers all over the world, Quick Diagnosis AI bot will ask patients questions regarding their symptoms which will include but not limited to the severity of their symptoms and the period they have been experiencing those symptoms. Quick Diagnosis uses natural language technology to understand and analyse the user's response and display the cause of the illness to the user with possible actions based on the severity of the disease.

According to our survey and other data by statista.com, the number of people with mobile phones and internet connection across Nigeria and other developing countries is on the rise. These have made towns and communities more connected to the outside world like never before. Quick Diagnosis is utilising this medium to provide healthcare service to millions of people all over Nigeria with lack of healthcare specialist and centres in an age of population boom.

Quick Diagnosis is presently in an alpha testing phase and would be available to the public by next year, 2020. Then, we aim to proliferate and reach about a million people in Nigeria through partnerships with NGOs, specialist doctors and health service institutions to be able to reach about a million people in Nigerian in the first year of launch. Then within the next five years, we aim to expand to nearby countries such as Ghana, Kenya and South Africa with an estimated market of 5 to 10 million people combined.
Our major milestone would be to get a partnership deal with doctors and medical institutions in Nigeria and other parts of the world, whose collaboration will help scale our project beyond measure.
First, we aim at onboarding about 100 to 200 specialist doctors into the Quick Diagnosis AI training program and reach over 1 million users in Nigerian within the next one to two years of launch.
Then, within the next 4 ~ 5 years, we aim to scale to other African countries like Ghana, Kenya and South Africa and signup at least 5 million users.
Our major challenge would be the initial capital to fund the AI training program and brand recognition to expand into different markets quickly.
We currently have three dedicated staff working on our product with 12 years of technology experience, and with the help of Solve Challenge Program, we aim to get enough recognition and partnership that would assist in funding, training of Quick Diagnosis AI bot and mentorship.
