How can we use AI to make assessments more personalized, engaging, and predictive for Pre-K to Grade 8 learners in the United States?

How can we use AI to make assessments more personalized, engaging, and predictive for Pre-K to Grade 8 learners in the United States?

This 2024 challenge is the second custom challenge created in collaboration with the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. The challenge sought US-focused solutions using AI in the classroom to efficiently deliver more impactful feedback to learners.

Given the challenge’s focus on early-stage solutions, winners not only split a prize pool of $500,000 but are also participating in a six-month support program to help them develop their products and business models.

Highlights include:

  • 57% of applicants came from the US, with the rest hailing from 26 countries around the world.

  • Solve has connected winners with education experts from across the Solve network, including challenge judging panel members from the LEGO Foundation, Sesame Workshop, Chan Zuckerberg Initiative, and more.
