How can girls and women reach their full potential and thrive in STEM education and careers in the United States?

Tiger Global Impact Ventures, the philanthropic arm of technology investment firm Tiger Global Management, launched the Gender Equity in STEM Challenge with MIT Solve in 2023 as part of their $50 million commitment to supporting organizations that are leveling the playing field for women and girls in STEM.

Solve launched and promoted the challenge for 12 weeks, led vetting and selection using our proven methodology and research-backed platform to select 16 finalists, and guided experts on the judging panel as they selected the top seven nonprofit solutions from across the US, from tribal lands in Montana to New York City.

Results include:

  • Nearly 200 applications from organizations headquartered in 38 states

  • 16 finalists and 7 winners chosen

  • Over $1 million in prizes and wraparound support for finalists and winners
